Hog Call Fun trust-building exercise with a communication focus. Trust Exercises 5 - 10 min Medium 16 - 30 Active. Save to Playlist. Step-by-Step Instructions Form pairs. Each pair identifies a favourite animal, and the sound associated with it, eg a cow and moo.
Invite each pair to announce their animal and express its sound to the whole group to avoid duplication. Pairs split, with each person moving to the opposite end of a designated playing space to their partner. Getting ready, each person turns away from their partner, shuffles their position, closes their eyes and assumes the bumpers up position. As each pair reunites, they may open their eyes. You can probably imagine why the activity is called Hog Call now. Behavioural Norms This fun partner exercise is ideal for exploring what it takes to build and nourish healthy relationships.
To help your group focus on particular social and interpersonal skills, invite your group to reflect on the following questions: In what ways were you connected to your partner? Provide three examples of how you had to work as a team to be successful in this exercise.
Did you express or demonstrate respect for your partner or others? In what ways? What was your goal? Describe how you were socially engaged during this exercise. Were you even aware of others? Name each person after one of the words. Only this word is called by their partner in an effort to locate them in the blind confusion. For example, if I am Pop, I would move around yelling the word "Corn". Of course my partner will be yelling "Pop". When we do find each other, we may take of our blindfolds and enjoy watching the remaining players, do exercises, or chat with each other if used as an ice breaker.
