DellRockstar Welcome to Dell Community! I am a Dell user, just like you are. HI, Thanks for taking the time to reply. Cannot proceed. Alice, Download the drivers to the computer you're using now. Go to start, right click on my computer, left click properties, go to the hardware tab and then click on device drivers. It says device driver or something like that, I dont have xp anymore I dont remember exactly what it says. Anyways this should bring you to a list of your device drivers.

Look and see if there are any device drivers with a yellow exclamation mark next to them. A simple google search will tell you exactly how to get to your device manager if my xp instructions are not correct. Now then if you do not have a cd or if using the cd device drivers does not work, you will need to download the latest device drivers off the internet. Since your here I can assume that you have some other way to get to the internet aside from your laptop. Similar threads O. Reinstalled XP - cannot connect to internet.

Oh, the audio driver will be the SigmaTel-Driver unless you have a dedicated Creative sound card. OK, I'm on the Internet and I have sound!

Seems when I inserted the Dell driver disk nothing installed. I had to do them manually. My thanks to all of you for taking the time to help me. It is appreciated very much. Now that your on the web you might want to check on the mfg's website and see if there are any updated drivers that you can download. The Best Tech Newsletter Anywhere.
